We're thrilled to say that Smart Floral Art will be returning to the Manchester Flower Festival this May bank holiday weekend!
And this year, we're bringing something a little different but just as spectacular – a display inspired by the breathtaking cherry blossoms of Osaka, Japan.
The Manchester Flower Festival will run from Friday 23rd to Monday 26th May 2025 and is completely free to attend. Just like last year, you'll find our Smart Floral Art stall in the Floral Marquee on New Cathedral Street.
Our Japanese-Inspired Display
Osaka in Japan is famous for its breathtaking cherry blossom trees. Drawing inspiration from the cherry blossom festival in Osaka Castle Park, our display this year incorporates pressed blossom flowers on traditional paper lanterns – the kind that beautifully illuminate trees during evening celebrations.
Pressed Flower Lantern Workshop - Saturday Only!
If you love the thought of cherry blossoms and lanterns, why not join us for a unique pressed flower paper workshop on Saturday 24th May between 11am and 3pm.
In this hands-on session, you'll learn:
How to arrange seasonal pressed flowers on a handmade paper hanging lantern
Techniques for handling and securing delicate flowers
Design approaches inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics
No previous experience is needed – we'll guide you through every step of the process. The best part? Your beautiful creation is yours to take home and hang proudly!
Workshop Details:
Date: Saturday 24th May 2025
Time: Any time between 11am and 3pm (drop-in format at a convenient time for you - you don't have to be there for the full 4 hours!)
Location: Floral Marquee on New Cathedral Street (between Harvey Nichols and Selfridges)
Price: Just £15 per lantern
Suitable for: All ages and abilities
Important Note: You're booking a lantern rather than a specific time slot, so you're welcome to join us anytime during the workshop hours. While we'll try to accommodate walk-ins, we strongly recommend booking online in advance to guarantee your place.
